Why do American have their own Sports, why do they wear pads? Is it gay?

Americans are strange people, they have their own sports, which the rest of the World doesn’t play! Seriously whats with the gay looking pads & tights they wear in American Football? Also, how could Baseball ever be any respectable Nations favourite passtime? Strabge people, even stranger sports?

I feel like I have to explain this every day …

First of all, you have to understand that the USA is separated from the rest of the world by two big oceans. When people started coming to our country to live, there was no TV, radio, or Internet to see what the rest of the world was doing. So when we started creating sports to play, we did it in relative isolation. That’s a big part of why we have our own sports. We had to make things up as we went along, often by taking the basic principles of older games and making up new rules for them. That’s exactly how American football got created.

Now, as for the pads … in rugby (a sport I love, by the way), you have to wrap up the ball carrier. You can’t spear him, you can’t tackle him if he’s in the air, you can’t shoulder-charge, you can’t tackle above the shoulders or below the knees, and you can’t trip.

But in American football, you can do any of that stuff. You can get a running start and launch yourself into the ball carrier like a missile if you want to.

THAT is why American football players wear pads. The hits are much more violent, and those violent hits are legal.

Players were literally dying on the field in the early days of American football. Our game almost got banned, until our pioneering players took steps to ensure player safety.

I don’t watch baseball, but I don’t see anything wrong with it. Neither do Latin Americans or the Japanese.

The Aussies have their own sport that other people don’t play — Aussie rules football. It doesn’t make them strange. It just means they play their own kind of game, which they, too, developed in relative isolation from the rest of the world.

I get so tired of people bashing things they don’t understand …
